艺作花园 ARTificial Garden

「艺作花园 / ARTificial Garden」是为了纪念上海环球金融中心六周年而举办的，由四组艺术家作品所组成的团体展。集绘画、雕塑、数码艺术、空间装置等各种媒体艺术为一体，就作品本身而言大都是由人工物所构成，但是他们各自与宽阔的主入口大厅有机地、动态地联结起来，把作为大厦标志的办公楼主入口大厅改变成了一个大型的艺术庭园。
 
陆新建，通过用记号的表现形式描绘出从天空俯瞰的上海的城市街道（建筑物、人、自然一切尽在其中），来表现这个城市本身所具有的垂直性和机动性的模样。李在孝，使用木头这种看似普通的材料来表现一种最原始的造型「球」，但是因为造型太美，反而给人以加工过的印象吧。六岛，以其独特的数码表现形式、反讽的方式来提出场所与作品、作品与观赏者的关系性。然后是由PRISM DESIGN和Office339共同创作的作品「人造自然」，这是一件线与立方体的装置作品。表现的是作为生命基盘的母体，及用无数的线与铁骨表现的生命诞生的瞬间，给予每个观赏者仿佛被包围其中、身临其境的感觉。
 
「不是艺术模仿自然，而是自然模仿艺术」，英国诗人Oscar Wilde曾说过这样的话。这句话的意思绝不是否定自然，而是提示大家艺术是更好地去探索自然的方法。通过这次的展览以及这个空间带给大家的感受，希望大家今后能有机会用艺术去进一步发掘存在于大都市里的“自然花园”。

“ARTificial Garden” is a group exhibition held in celebration of the sixth anniversary of the Shanghai World Financial Center, displaying works by four groups of artists. The show brings together different mediums of art such as painting, sculpture, digital art, and spatial installations. The works themselves are mainly composed of artificial matter, yet one by one they link up organically and actively with the spacious main entrance, thereby transforming the main entrance of the office building—symbolic of the entire edifice—into a large courtyard of art.
 
Through the use of expressive and symbolic forms, Lu Xinjian portrays a bird’s-eye view of streets in the city of Shanghai (architectural structures, humans, nature are all encompassed within); he thus presents the vertical and mechanical veneer of the city itself. Lee Jaehyo employs wood, this most ordinary of materials, to express the most primitive form of the “sphere”; its overly perfect shape, however, ends up rendering an impression of the artificial. island6 , through their distinctive digital forms of expression as well as irony, offers up the relational connections between the venue and the work, as well as between the work and the observers. Finally, there is “Artificial Nature”, created jointly by PRISM DESIGN and Office339, a linear and yet cuboid installation work. Presenting the maternal body—the foundation of life—as well as expressing that instantaneous moment of life being born through deploying countless lines and a metallic skeleton, the work provides each viewer with the apparent sensation of an enveloping and immanent experience. 
 
“Life imitates art far more than art imitates life.” the British poet Oscar Wilde once quipped. The phrase meant not to negate life and nature but rather was aimed at reminding us how art is an even better means of exploring nature. Through the sensations this exhibition and this space impart on viewers, it is our hope that everyone will have the chance now and hereafter to make use of art in further excavating nature (the gardens) in the metropolis.

聚集在城市里的各种各样的个性从各种角度的碰撞，从而不断地创造着这个世界的物质和现实。无数的线是各个个性至此以来追寻的轨迹。作为基础的立方体是母体，是创造能量的过程。 

All manners of personalities congregating in a city clash from all angles, thereby continually generating the world’s physicality and reality. The countless lines are the traces and tracks that all kinds of personalities have pursued. The fundamental cubic form is the maternal body, an energy-generating process.
