Office339 is pleased announce Ikumi Nagasawa’s first Shanghai solo exhibition in Shanghai, “I know you know it”.

Ikumi Nagasawa was born in Tokyo, Japan, 1980, and graduated from Joshibi University graduate school of art and design, Major in Painting.

The figures in her works look lovely at first sight, but reveal sorrows of super-realism. “Wanna love but don’t know how to, wanna get close but keep distance, offish eyes eager for love and communications”, the existing circumstances of modern are described so subtly.

Moreover, in her works, when the viewers stare at her work, her works will make them find a gleam of hope from the unease and disharmony of daily life, which is what she wants to tell. This special world outlook has won supports from home and abroad for her works since release last year in Shanghai.

This exhibition, besides new painting works, will also exhibit the three-dimensional sculpture works that Ikumi Nagasawa tried to make for the first time.

“I know you know it”

A glim of blueness and disharmony felt at occasional instants, what are those?
The answer, actually, everyone sees.

Pretending to be insouciant, but if you can listen peacefully, you will hear voices from your own heart.
What is true self?

If possible, let the noise of daily life wear away.
Listen quietly, in such blueness and disharmony.

Yes, actually you see.
