Born in Sapporo, Japan in 1978
Graduated from the Department of Arts and Culture, Hokkaido University of Education, Sapporo in 2002
Lives and works in Sapporo, Japan

Nobuyuki Semba produces paintings in oil, mainly of landscapes of scenes viewed in his daily life including an airport and a golf course. On his shaped canvas, there extends a cityscape seen from a distance, and a broad landscape of the field viewed from the airplane — his perspective gives impressions of quiet and calm atmosphere with no movement, and the horizon expanding beyond the canvas.
