Nanako Kashimi was spotlighted at the contemporary art exhibition Northern Creators — Lovely held at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sapporo, Japan in 2006. In her installation, the composition of small stuffed creatures and abstract paintings makes up a unique micro-cosmos. At first glance, her installation recalls a fairy-tale world; however, closer inspection will awake sensitivity of the viewers to notice fragility of life and mental burden in the irregular details of the creatures.
