Biography
Born in Sapporo, Japan in 1977
Lives and works in Shiraoi, Japan
Since 2002, Kineta Kunimatsu has been worked based on the studio “Tobiu Art Community” utilizing a closed school, Tobiu elementary school located in Shiraoi, Hokkaido. Receiving inspiration from the nature, he has created wood sculptures using mainly Japanese Judas trees which were grown in Hokkaido, as the artist himself was. His artworks with highly refined composition show various forms of expression.
