Lives and works in Sapporo, Japan
Ikuko Imamura has represented impressive installation at solo and group shows including the contemporary art exhibition FIX•MIX•MAX! (Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, Sapporo, Japan in 2006), and her first solo exhibition abroad at Galeria Nebulosa (Jalapa, Mexico; supported by the ICC + S-AIR 2006 Exchange Program). Her “House” involves fantastic space, in which ingeniously incorporated elements ― a slit of dim light, faint sound, shade, etc. ― awaken visitors’ five senses and bring back their old memories and a sense of nostalgia.
